Database Configuration Assistant (DBCA)
If the decision was made
not
to
choose the default database install, or if additional databases
to work with are desired, use DBCA. DBCA can also be used to
delete a database, add options to an existing database or manage
templates. For assistance, please refer to an installation
manual for a detailed description as this chapter is limited to
essentials only.
To use DBCA in a Unix/Linux environment,
type dbca at command prompt. DBCA is typically found in
$ORACLE_HOME/bin.
For a Windows environment, from Programs,
Oracle-home name, choose Configuration and Migration Tools and
select Database Configuration Assistant.
The Database Configuration Assistant window is displayed in
Figure 3.5.
