Oracle Streams
Chapter 7 -
Monitoring and Troubleshooting Oracle Streams

v$streams_apply_reader

There are two columns that provide the elapsed time details. They are:

  • ELAPSED_DEQUEUE_TIME – The time elapsed, in hundredths of a second, during the dequeuing of messages since the Apply process was last started.

  • ELAPSED_SCHEDULE_TIME – The time elapsed, in hundredths of a second, during the scheduling of messages since the Apply process was last started. Scheduling includes computing dependencies between messages and assembling messages into transactions.

The following statement shows elapsed times:

select SID, APPLY_NAME, APPLY#, SGA_USED,
ELAPSED_DEQUEUE_TIME, ELAPSED_SCHEDULE_TIME
from V$STREAMS_APPLY_READER
/

A check of the elapsed times helps the administrators see the performance of reader component.

v$streams_apply_server

This view displays information about each Apply server and its activities. An Apply server receives events from the apply coordinator for an Apply process. For each event received, an Apply server either applies the event or sends the event to the appropriate Apply handler.
