Chapter 3 - Installation and Database Creation
Database File Options
Here the Oracle Home and directory path to
install the Oracle software is specified. Choose one of the
following options:
For the first 2 choices, it will be
necessary to make modifications to database file names and
locations later. For Oracle Managed Files, specify a default
location called database area for all files. Oracle
automatically creates and deletes files from this location as
required.

Recovery Configuration
When a new database is created be sure to
plan for its recovery in case of any system failures.
The
Recovery Configuration screen is displayed in Figure 3.9.
Use this page to specify Flash Recovery Area and also
Enable Archiving. For Flash Recovery Area, specify the directory
location and its size. If archiving is not enabled at this
stage, it can be enabled later.

Database Content
In order to add sample schemas to the
database, select the Sample Schemas option on the Sample Schemas
property page. To specify scripts to be run, check Run the
following scripts on the Custom Scripts property page. The
default is No scripts to run.
Initialization Parameters
These parameters fall into the following
categories:

Memory

Sizing
-
Character Sets
and
-
Connection Mode.
