Installation of Oracle Software and Database

  1. Set passwords for SYS and SYSTEM accounts.

  2. Once the summary page is presented, click Install to start the installation. A progress bar will appear to track the installation process.

  3. A dialog page appears in UNIX/Linux asking that root.sh be run in a separate window. When it finishes, choose Continue in OUI.

  4. At the end of the install, the Configuration page appears. Allow the tools to install and Start configuring the network, netservice listener process, create database and management tools. Click Next.

  5. When the database is created, an information page lists details about the database. Review the list. Click Password Management to unlock or change passwords on database accounts.

  6. In the password management page, lock or unlock accounts and assign new password to unlocked accounts as needed.

  7. A final End of Installation page appears with information on Web application port numbers.

Now that database installation is complete, use Enterprise Manager or a Web browser to connect to the database. At the prompt for user name and password, enter SYS and its password.
