Exporting a Workspace

At some point, it may be desirable to export workspace information as a backup or even to move the information to another HTML DB instance.  When exporting a workspace, the Workspace information, groups defined, and the users for that workspace will be exported.  CAUTION: The applications and database objects are not exported.  An application export and database export will have to be performed for those.  Exporting an application is covered in the chapter on Application Deployment with HTML DB.

When exporting, the first page will ask for the Workspace name.  This is shown in Figure 15.18.  After filling in the name of the Workspace either by entering the name or using the up arrow icon, click on the Export Workspace button.  Next, as shown in Figure 15.19, the file format to use for the exported file will have to be specified.  The File Character set will be equal to the character set for the database.  When the Save File button is clicked, a file will be downloaded to the local machine in ASCII text format.
